This thread is made to explain battles on this site, please note that you may want to keep this thread up in a different tab while in a battle.
STEP 1: TURNS;
The turn is made up of 2 simple parts:
1. The blocking/dodging phase
2. The attacking phase
3. Closing Damage
1. The blocking/dodging phase:
This phase is a bit obvious. If you where attacked last turn, you can either block, dodge,
or take the hit. For God-modding reasons, you cannot dodge every attack, and blocking still
deals you damage.
*NOTE: You cannot block a weapon-based attack without a weapon, but they are easier to dodge*
HOWEVER, If your post is starting the battle, then this phase is skipped and you go directly
to preforming your attack. If some kind of technique requires you to charge for an entire
turn before attacking, then you may preform it THIS TURN ONLY without charging for an turn.
2. The attacking phase:
One thing that must be stressed here is that NO ATTACK IS A DEFINATE HIT. Let me demonstrate:
This is what NOT to do:
Saiyan A punches Saiyan B onto the ground
This is what you SHOULD do:
Saiyan A swings his fist at Saiyan B, attempting to knock him to the ground.
The same goes for special techniques, but, if you have a higher total speed than your
opponent, than they cannot dodge that attack, basic or technique. You may not attack your
opponent indefinately however:
You only get 1 basic attack and 1 Special technique a turn, OR up to 3 basic attacks(Physical
and/or Energy, but only up to 3).
This also helps keep god-modding down, and also allows battle to be fair fights.
3. Closing Damage:
This is a 2-step phase, but it is very simple.
At the end of your turn, all you have to do is jot down how much damage YOU took this turn
for part one. Example:
Damage Taken: 200(25 for blocked punch, 175 for Ki Blast)
And the second part is just as easy, you write how much damage your opponent MAY take from
your total attacks, as well as the total speed of EACH attack:
Total Possible Damage: 200(50 for un-blocked punch, 150 for Ki Blast)
Punch: 50 speed
Ki Blast: 100 Speed
And that's a regular turn, plus whatever filler you may need to add based on the topic the
battle takes place in. Seems complicated, but it is genuinly easy.
